Freedom of Information Act 2000

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 provides rights of public access to information held by public authorities.  Under the Act, every public authority is required to adopt and maintain a publication scheme which has been approved by the Information Commissioner, and to publish information in accordance with the scheme.
